There was no such thing as a quiet weekend for Reform UK’s Bexhill and Battle branch, as members joined hundreds of others across the country for the party’s highly anticipated Reform UK 2025 Action Day, described by the party organisers as a “roaring success.”
The nationwide initiative saw 450 branches mobilised with one goal in mind – to showcase the party’s growing presence in communities up and down Britain. Across the country, an estimated 2,000 new members joined Reform UK in a single day, with around five new members signing up every minute.
Locally, the Bexhill and Battle team set up a stand on Devonshire Road. Branch Chairman Bernard Brown said the day had been “very successful,” adding that the team “recruited new members, distributed leaflets and presented Reform UK positively in discussions with the public.” Bernard Brown continued: “Our branch is growing in strength. We can and will translate this progress into election victories.”
Branch Vice-Chair, Richard Callan reported strong public engagement throughout the day. “Lots of people stopped to say hello and some even proudly showed us their membership cards,” he said. “Many wanted to talk about what’s wrong with the Labour government and the collapse of the Tories, and how they’re backing Reform. We had passing cars tooting their horns in support all afternoon.”
The local event formed part of a coordinated national effort, with Reform UK headquarters broadcasting a live show from London. Hosted by party Chairman, David Bull, the broadcast featured well-known figures including Professor Matt Goodwin, Kent County Council leader Linden Kemkaran, and Westminster Council’s Laila Cunningham.
Meanwhile, Jeremy Kyle travelled along the south coast aboard the Reform UK campaign bus, chatting with the public, while Councillor Darren Grimes reported from Durham.
Bernard Brown said: “There can be no doubt this week has shown how much our country needs to be rid of Starmer’s Government – and how much we need a Reform UK Government. Today it was clear that a huge number of the electorate of Bexhill want us to return a Reform UK MP.”
Locally, Reform UK members are being encouraged to attend upcoming ward meetings as the branch continues to build its grassroots network.
