Bexhill and Battle Members Join Festive Sussex Reform UK Evening

Members from Reform UK, Bexhill and Battle branch recently joined friends and colleagues from across Sussex for a Christmas social evening hosted by the Mid-Sussex branch. It was a welcome chance to step away from local campaigning, relax and spend time with people who share the same commitment to building Reform UK locally.

The evening was hosted by Chris French, Chair of the Mid-Sussex branch, who deserves thanks for organising such a well-attended event with a warm, friendly atmosphere. Christmas was just around the corner, and there was plenty of conversation, catching up, and welcoming new members into the fold.

REFORM UK

Although guest speakers Ann Widdecombe and Paul Linehan were with us, the evening remained informal. This was very much a social gathering rather than a set-piece political event.

Ann spoke openly about her experience in politics and the importance of patience and integrity, and why parties do not rush to publish detailed policy too early in a parliamentary cycle. Her remarks sparked thoughtful discussion and really resonated with many of us, especially the importance of selecting candidates who are rooted in their communities. She also kindly signed copies of her books, which we’ll be using for future branch raffles or auctions.

It was also great to hear from Paul Linehan, Reform UK’s mayoral candidate for Sussex, who was warmly received and clearly enjoys strong support from across the counties. His presence reinforced the sense that Reform UK is building real momentum locally.

For those of us from Bexhill and Battle, the evening was as much about connection as it was about the speeches. Sharing conversations and a few laughs reminded us that politics is ultimately about people.

We were pleased to be a part of the evening and look forward to more events in the months ahead.
