Homes for Local People
Many young families and essential workers tell me they’re struggling to stay in the area.
Some communities are exploring ideas like: prioritising homes for full-time local residents supporting community-owned housing that stays affordable long-term

Supporting Local Services
With budgets under pressure, residents often feel they’re paying more for less.
Other towns have introduced small visitor contributions at busy tourist spots to help fund:
▪️toilets
▪️car parks
▪️local infrastructure
It eases the burden on residents while still supporting the local economy.

A Stronger Local Voice in Planning
People want development that reflects local needs, not decisions imposed from outside.
Giving Town and Parish Councils more influence could help ensure growth actually benefits our communities.

Protecting Our Landscape
Traffic, especially in summer, is a real issue.
Ideas other areas are using include:
▪️seasonal shuttle services
▪️better traffic management
▪️higher biodiversity standards in new developments

These help balance growth with protecting the countryside we all value.

I want to hear what matters to you, what challenges you’re facing, and what ideas you think could make life better here. Together, we can explore practical solutions shaped by the people who live here.
